6 Things Women Share

November 16, 2015

I have been asked, why did you start Women’s Success Lounge.  I see the conception of Women’s Success Lounge in parallel with my journey as a mother, wife and licensed clinical social worker for over 20 years.  As a Clinician, I have researched, developed programs, facilitated trainings and implemented strategies in an effort to strengthen at-risk mothers and their families.  I have learned that women regardless of our socioeconomic or educational status share many characteristics.  We all want what is best for our families; we all thirst to feel loved; we all strive to be the best we can be with what we have; we all yearn to be connected to a community; we all thrive to provide the best for our children within our grasp; and we also all elect to put others ahead of ourselves at times.

To that end, I wanted to create a solace where women could come together to charge or change their essence.  As Maya Angelou stated: “Now that I know better, I do better….”  Even with that belief, knowing and doing better requires re-focusing at times.  With that desire and understanding, The Women’s Success Lounge was born.  It is my vision that Women’s Success Lounge is a place you would want to go to gain new knowledge; learn a new skill, foster a new attitude, change a behavior, and create a community that has an essential impact on your mind, body and soul.  The name imparts Success with no reservation.
